According to Variety, sources close to the production have confirmed that Chiwetel Ejiofor is Sony and EON's top choice for a 007 villain in the 24th adventure, due for release next year.
The studio did not comment on the casting rumour, but it is already known that, as Michael G. Wilson confirmed at a press event last month, EON are looking to cast the Bond 24 villain in the next couple of months.
The trade press made it clear that no contract nor scheduling had been discussed with the Oscar-nominated actor.
According to The Wrap who are also touting an exclusive story, the Bond producers are looking to cast two Bond girls alongside Ejiofor. One is rumoured to be a "Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond".
Bond 24 will premier on October 23, 2015.
